The Dorchester Hotel has recreated the iconic decorations from Queen Elizabeth II's coronation as a tribute for the Coronation of King Charles III, which is taking place May 6 2023 in Westminster Abbey.
Following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last September, the newly appointed sovereign has ascended the throne. He is set to be crowned alongside Queen Consort Camilla in a symbolic ceremony at Westminster Abbey, which will be officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Several celebrations, including street parties and an evening concert, will take place the following day. In the U.K., pubs and bars will be permitted to stay open for an additional two hours, and Monday will be recognised as a national holiday.
