The Guildhall Art Gallery showcases the captivating heritage of London, offering a glimpse into its rich history located in Moorgate, London.

It serves as the repository for the City of London's extensive art collection, comprising approximately 4,000 pieces, of which around 250 are exhibited concurrently.

The gallery's permanent collection features an array of artworks dating from the 1600s onwards, including a remarkable assortment of pre-Raphaelite masterpieces.

Additionally, beneath the gallery, lies the sole remaining Roman amphitheater in London. This ancient venue once accommodated over 7,000 spectators seated on wooden benches, witnessing events such as thrilling animal contests, criminal executions, and gladiatorial battles.

Temporary exhibitions on the ground floor of the Guildhall Art Gallery are refreshed periodically, providing visitors with a chance to explore new artistic displays. These temporary exhibitions, although transient in nature, are typically free of charge, with only rare exceptions.

Admission to the Guildhall Art Gallery is usually free of charge, although donations are welcome. Let us know your thoughts.
