What is face rolling?
By using a tool, which normally has a roller at each end made from jade or rose quartz, you massage or roll the skin away from your face. There are also face rollers made with other materials like stainless steel or amethyst.
Benefits of face rolling:
It prevents your skin from ageing - Face rolling tones your facial muscles and thus improves your skin’s elasticity, depuffs your face, and can reduce any ageing signs
It renews the cells in your face - It energises your tired face by replenishing your skin cells.
It increases blood circulation and collagen in your face - Face rolling allows your blood to flow from one end of your face to the other, and it also improves the production of collagen.
It tackles dark circles due to its cooling effect - Face rolling reduces the size of blood vessels that are found under the eyes
Choosing a facial roller for your skin:
Jade roller - this It has a cooling effect which soothes irritation and reduces inflammation. Jade is a stone that remains cold even when in contacts with skin. It helps close the pores and tighten the skin
Rose Quartz - This pink crystal is known for self-love and care. It represents beauty and youth.
Roll lift and roll again.....
How to use a face roller:
Follow the below steps in you use a regular-sized, dual-ended roller.
Always do face rolling upwards and in one direction – never roll up and down
For an uplifting massage - work around your facial contours and use slightly more pressure for upwards motions so that they slightly lift your facial muscles.
To encourage lymph drainage - imagine the bridge of your nose is the central point and roll away from it in all directions. Imagine you are very gently rolling all the toxin build up outward and downwards; finally rolling outward along your jaw and down the channel that runs down your neck by your ear.
Derma rollers - this tool creates micro pathways in the skin for product to better penetrate. When the needle creates tiny pricks around the skin & gives enough space in-between so the wound healing response takes over, then you develop new skin. That, in turn, leads to a smoother, more even, and plumper complexion.
When shopping for a derma roller, there's one main feature you want to focus on - the needles. They can be made from titanium, stainless steel, or polymer, and are available in a range of different lengths.
How to use a derma roller:
Take your derma roller and gently roll it over your skin vertically, horizontally, and diagonally, rolling over your cheeks, forehead, chin, lips, and neck. No need to press too hard or put yourself in pain, apply as much pressure as you can comfortably tolerate
Ice roller - Ice-rolling involves placing the roller in the freezer over night and then massaging the face with it.
How to use an ice roller:
Start from the center of your face and use upward, outward strokes to roll the tool along the skin, making sure you apply just enough pressure to massage the skin, as using too much pressure can cause irritation.
Facial Gua Sha - this tool uses a stroke that creates pressure and stretch at the same time, which makes it more effective than the jade roller for sculpting facial features like cheekbone and jawline. Gua Sha tools are designed with shapes that fit around facial curves to amplify the face sculpting benefit.
