Dopamine Land

Writer's picture: THE DVNTHE DVN

Dopamine Land, in South Kensington is an interactive museum of dopamine spreading sensory experiences, that connects your imagination of your inner child and transforms it into reality.

This new immersive experience provides visitors a dose of dopamine, with different rooms created to deliver a unique feeling, and lead you to nostalgia-inducing journey. With cutting edge technology used to create a series of rooms that channel positive feelings of relaxation and excitement.

One room even had camera and video icons on the floor to show you where to stand to get the best footage. This is a the place if you're social media fan. Best content for your account.

We were grouped with others who we didn't know, this made the experience even more unique, it gives visitors the chance to go on this journey with complete strangers and share the moments of happiness as a team.

The experience started in a room, we were sat in the dark listening to this voice of a female explaining how our Dopamine Land experience will begin.

Next we were guided to a popcorn room, scented like the sweet-or-salty cinema snack, it gave us a chance to eat a bag of popcorn while watching an animated footage of popping kernels pouring out of boxes.

Then we entered a version of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms. With colourful bulbs dangling between its mirrored walls, ceiling and floor.

We explored a series of spaces designed to stimulate touch, sight, smell and even memory. The room below allowed us to write/draw and then put the papers in the ballot box.

There was also a room with an immersive game with huge mirrors where you need to find your way out - only one path leads to the end.

You can also explore a calm, beautiful and surreal digital forest, with mirrors and physical objects surrounding you.

The last room was a pillow fight room, here you can let loose and play until your heart’s content.

The exhibits were interactive and original, and left us feeling uplifted and calm. After you can enjoy the bubble bar where you can play a game of ping pong, take photos in the different themes sets, including a bubble bath, a bubble machine, wrecking ball and much more!

The room is bubble-themed with activities and photo opportunities also an assortment of circular stools and tables to enjoy a drink and reflect on the experiences encountered.
